John D. Sumner

John D. Sumner, 85, longtime Moses Lake businessman, passed away peacefully Friday, October 15, 2004 at SunBridge Special Care Center in Moses Lake.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2004 at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with Pastor John Roberts officiating.

John served his country during World War II with the SeeBees from 1944-1945.

He moved his family to Moses Lake in 1955, where he was part owner of LAD Irrigation. Later, he owned and operated Sumner Truck & Diesel and Sumner Crane Service. John retired in 1980.

Survivors include: his wife, Doris; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Larry Van Keulen; a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Pam Sumner; a brother, Frank Sumner of San Jose, Calif.; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
