Lind-Ritzville shuts out Wilbur Creston

Lind-Ritzville was able to capitalize on its running game and blasted by Wilbur Creston in a 39-0 win.

Lind-Ritzville was able to run the ball all the way to the barn five times. Nick Ashley ran 20 carries, ran for 156 yards, and had five touchdowns. Contributing to Ashely's running were the passing yards quarterback Travis DeWald was able to make. DeWald threw 10-for-18 passing, completing 180 yards and put Ashley into a position to drive in the ball. "We made enough big passing plays to get us in there," coach Mike Lynch said.

Lind-Ritzville will play Rearden next week on Friday the 22nd, "We're excited to collide with another 6-0 team," Lynch said about next week's game.

Warden scratching heads over loss

Warden had a disappointing night on a fumble and missed touchdown opportunity, and lost to Granger 12-0.

Warden and Granger went into a close game, going scoreless through the first half. Granger scored its first touchdown on a pass which the Cougars were unable to stop. Immediately after the touchdown Granger's kick was ran back by Warden and fumbled. Granger recovered the loose ball to score on a small drive.

"We couldn't generate offensively," coach Jerry Powell said.

The game continued back and forth with both teams unable to put things together offensively.

"We aren't disappointed at all in our performance, we played our hearts out," Powell said.

Othello loses on last minute field goal

Othello and Connell battled it out on the field going back and forth as Connell edges Othello on a last minute field goal, losing 30-27.

Othello went scoreless in the first quarter and watched Connell take a 14-0 lead. The Huskies answered back in the second and out-muscled Connell's defense ending the first half outscoring them 17-6. In the last minutes of regulation the Huskies came back to tie the game 27-27 but Connell marched back down to put the ball thought the uprights and swipe the win.

Othello's Wally Cantu threw 17-for-26 and 259 yards and Geoff Kirkwood ran the ball for 163 yards on 26 carries.

Royal thrashes Highland

The game was a walk in the park for Royal City as they trounce Highland 62-0.

Royal City's first touchdown came from a 77 yard pass, and opened what proved to be a long night for Highland. Royal's Jeff Jack rushed the ball to take over for Royal's ground game and had 128 yards on 16 carries, and Daniel Garza ran for 31 yards on four carries with a 20-yard touchdown.

The overall offense for the Knights would finish with 163 passing yards and 290 rushing yards as Royal penetrated Highland's line, and kept finding the end zone.

Ephrata falls hard to Cashmere

Ephrata couldn't put anything together in a loss to Cashmere losing 44-7.

Cashmere held Ephrata to only 71 yards of total offense and kept passing to a minimal. The Tigers had two players rushing for negative yardage, and had Thomas Bossert had 10 runs with 28 yards, and Mark Ouradnik with 30 yards on eight carries. Cashmere ran an average of 7.38 yards per carry for a blistering 421 yards on 57 carries as Ephrata's defense was unable to stop the running game Cashmere showed up with. Cashmere had zero passing yards.
