Salon sets up shop in new locale Move means expanded services

Consumers looking for their next haircut at Cappelli's Salon are going to find it in a different place.

The salon, originally located at 900 E. Broadway Ave., is now located at 2200 S. Maiers Road.

"We decided to upgrade our salon, and we chose this location because of the atmosphere out here,"owner-stylist Michelle Mathews said. "We just feel better about giving our clients service in this type of environment."

There are nine independent contractors currently working at the Cappelli's site; Mathews said that number did not change in the move.

Mathews said that the move allows to extend the business' personal services, and answering the requests of customers.

"Some men have even been coming in and getting their manicures and pedicures," she said. "We do body waxing and facials, and all services of hair. We've upgraded into doing a lot of the personalizing."

Mathews said she also hopes that the business will grow into doing makeup artistry as well.

Mathews said that the salon was in its previous location for about six years, while she herself has been a hairdresser in the area since 1988.

Mathews said that the move took place about two months ago, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Oct. 13.
