Virginia "Ginger" Haring

Virginia Lee "Ginger" Haring, 56, a longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away on the morning of November 24, 2004 at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, Wash. due to a short and courageous battle with lung cancer.

Ginger was born on August 31,1948 in Wallace, Idaho to June Sampson and the late Harlan Sampson. Ginger was an only child and spent her younger years living on a farm near the O'Sullivan reservoir.

Horses were a huge part of her life. She competed in the rodeo circuit and was crowned Grant County Rodeo Princess in 1965. She graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1966. She moved to Tri-Cities to attend college following graduation.

She married Robert Haring in 1971 and they made their home in Moses Lake, Wash. She gave birth to two sons, Todd Brandon Haring on August 28, 1972 and Ryan Dean Haring on March 11, 1975. She later divorced in 1988 and never remarried.

Ginger was an employee of Big Bend community College for 21 years. She enjoyed traveling with her best friend, Marjorie Hicks-Homberg and her dear friend, Gary Anderson. She enjoyed spending time laughing and telling stories with her family and friends. She was an active member of the Moses Lake Eagles Lodge.

She is survived by: her mother, June Sampson of Moses Lake; her son, Todd and Annie Haring of Las Vegas, Nev.; her son, Ryan and Tricia Haring of Ritzville, Wash.; and four grandchildren, Jared, Brandon, Makenzie and Meredith.

The funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at New Beginnings Christian Center, 318 Northshore Drive in Moses Lake with Pastor Skip Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Pioneer Memorial Gardens in Moses Lake. There will be a celebration of Ginger's life following the services at the Moses Lake Eagles Lodge.
