Elbert L. (Bill) Schrodt Jr.

Elbert L. (Bill) Schrodt Jr., of Warden, Wash., passed away on November 24, 2004 from a long fight with lung cancer. He was born to Elbert L (Bill) Sr. and Bernice Schrodt on December 6, 1937 in Iowa City, Iowa.

He later moved to Washington with his grandparents, and lived in the Sunnyside area where he met and married June Presley in June 1959. They moved to the Columbia Basin area in 1968, where he was a diesel mechanic and welder/fabricator until he retired in 2001.

He was also a fireman on the Warden Volunteer Fire Dept. for 24 years before retiring due to his lung condition. He loved to fish and hunt, which he enjoyed with his family and friends.

He is survived by: his wife, June of 45 years; two sons, Edward and Janet Schrodt of Moses Lake, Wash. and Anthony and Laurie Ford of Pendleton, Ore; two daughters, Melissa and Nathan Kulp of Beaverton, Ore. and Cynthia and Anthony Bolden of Moses Lake; six sisters, Barbara and Paul Dillard of Sunnyside, Phyllis and Howard Long of Creston, Iowa, Elizabeth and Gerald Aubrecht of Mary, La., Mary Hills of Osceola, Iowa, Charlotte Middleton of Puterbogh, Canada and Clara Dee Schrodt of Belond, Iowa; five brothers, Rick and Kim Davis of Des Moines, Iowa, Dean and Sally Schrodt of Chariton, Iowa, Thomas and Pat Schrodt and Charley Schrodt, all of Dubuque, Iowa and Floyd Schrodt of Wilton, Iowa.

His parents, three brothers, Paul Freddy, Louis and Claude LaVerne Schrodt, and one grandson, Kevin Ford preceded Bill in death.

Bill has14 grandchildren, Rick, Tony Jr., Daniel, Haley, Jeremy, Andrea, Kelsey, Ashley O., Aaron, Drew, Ashley B., Justin, Karissa and Noble, and one great-granddaughter, Kira.

All his family and friends will miss him.

Services will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Warden First Baptist Church. Contributions can be made in his memory to: St. Judes Hospital Contributions, 501 St Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
