Development manager: Moses Pointe rumors are just that

Still no imminent sale on local golf course

MOSES LAKE — Scott Wagner says he has heard that three different groups are purchasing Moses Pointe.

Which, since Wagner is development manager for Westshore Improvement, LLC, owner of Moses Pointe, located at 4507 Westshore Drive, has come as quite a surprise to him.

"There's no sale, nothing even close to a sale," Wagner said.

He said he's had a lot of people make comments about a purchase, and had people call him from golf courses throughout the area.

"Somebody has started a rumor, and it's taken legs," he said. "I'm the lead of our negotiating team, and I would be aware if there were any imminent sales, and there aren't."

In October, Wagner said that none of the people that have looked at the property were at the point where they would conduct feasibility studies. Moses Pointe has been for sale for several years, because the largest percentage owner wants to retire.

Wagner said in October that the several serious purchasers with expertise and financial resources to really purchase the project would all be working towards completing it as it's already been laid out, and working on developing it out as a resort project.

The entire 396-acre development, when completed, would include residential housing and condominium units, a retail village, commercial and hotel, Wagner said. In addition, he said there has long been talk of having a water park as part of the hotel, and many lakefront activities.

The constant rumors don't help matters, Wagner said.

"We're trying to run an ongoing business, and if everybody believes the rumors, basically it gets some peoples' hopes up and it gets some people's hopes down," he said. "It affects day-to-day business and how some people perceive the operation that we are running."
