Royal takes first in league

| November 6, 2004 8:00 PM

Royal City pounded Goldendale Thursday night in a shutout on Goldendale's turf winning 69-0.

The offensive play-making for Royal worked seemlessly as the Knights combined for 385 passing and rushing yards.

"We just played well. We scored 56 points in the first half so I'd say that's great," said coach Wiley Allred.

The Knights' Jeff Jack ran for 93 yards on eight carries and ended the night with four touchdowns. Ray Valle was 10-for-11 for 187 yards and no interceptions. Defensively the Knights put on the stranglehold; punishing Goldendale to come up empty handed. "They had their first first down in the third quarter, so we stopped them there," Allred said.

The Knights end league play 8-0 and continue the post season with a game next Saturday.
