Kyle Wilmot was a team leader.

His ability to get on base and into scoring position made him a team leader for the Moses Lake baseball team, head coach Ryan Kies said.

Wilmot was named first team Big Nine baseball selection in the outfield.

He was third in the league with batting average (.420) and first on the team with hits (29). Wilmot also had an on-base percentage around .500 and drove in nine runs from the leadoff spot. He also led all Big Nine outfielders in hits and had five assists from the center field position, including three at the plate to save runs.

"He carried us and when talk 29 hits in a high school season is incredible," Kies said.

Chad Hunter was an honorable mention as a pitcher with a 4-2 record and a 1.38 ERA. In his last three outings, Hunter allowed zero earned runs and gave up one hit to Southridge and five hits and zero earned runs against Eastmont.

Any other season, he would have been first team all-league," Kies said.

Brad Tracy was the third player from the Moses Lake baseball team selected to the all-conference list as an honorable mention. Tracy caught every inning for the Chiefs and threw out 84 percent of all base stealers in the league.
