Lester was born March 31, 1916 to Louis and Louisa Klingemann in Hansen, Idaho. He graduated from high school in 1932. After graduation, he departed from the family home to experience many endeavors. He served in the Navy from 1940 to 1946, stationed in Burma and China.

After his discharge, Lester met and married Calverna E. Von Bargen in December of 1947.

In 1947, he joined the Air Force in hopes of flying. To his dismay, the Air Force reinstated him in the medical corps, where he worked in the largest mobile hospital of the South Pacific. He was discharged from the Air Force in 1952.

His yearning for farming brought Lester and Calverna to the Columbia Basin, where they tended to a small piece of land. Wanting more from life, they adopted a son, Jeffrey, and moved to the country near George, Wash., tending to a 400-acre parcel of land.

In 1970, Lester and his wife moved to Moses Lake, Wash. where they both lived until their death. Lester and Calverna were both lifelong members of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Lester enjoyed singing in the choir and listening to his wife play the organ.

Lester had many special hobbies, most involving the outdoors, like camping, fishing and gardening. One of the things Lester enjoyed most was discussing religion and politics.

Lester was preceded in death by his wife, Calverna E. Klingemann, two brothers, Wilbert and Edward Klingemann and one sister, Ida Klingemann.

He is survived by: his twin sister, Margaret Klingemann of Spokane, Wash.; one son, Jeffrey L. Klingemann and his wife, Sharon of Moses Lake; one grandson, Aaron J. Klingemann and his wife, Alicia of Moses Lake; one granddaughter, Sarah A. Klingemann of Warden, Wash.; one great-granddaughter, Kelsie M. Klingemann of Moses Lake; and a host of many friends.
