Today's Generation prepares for annual recital

Members of Today's Generation in Moses Lake have had a busy spring.

The Jazz Club dancers from Today's Generation recently returned from their Southern California tour, where they participated in the Spotlight Dance Competition. The group earned several awards in jazz, hip hop and clogging.

Today's Generation also received the Sweepstakes Award for the best studio for the second year in a row.

There was no time to relax, as the dancers then performed at Disneyland and Universal Studios.

"The dancers were treated like VIPs at both parks, and the girls especially felt like royalty when Universal rolled out the red carpet for their entrance," said Lori Baker, co-director of Today's Generation.

The fun-filled week included a trip to the beach and a day at Disney's California Adventure.

The groups is now perfecting the dances they will perform at their annual recital, set for tomorrow, with performances at 2 and 7 p.m. at Wallenstien Theater. Tickets are $4. Fall registration forms will be available at the recital, as well.

Today's Generation is under the direction of Janet Bergeson, Peggy Earl and Lori Baker. For more information about the group or the recital, please call the studio at 771-0509.

"The dancers feel it is a privilege to represent such an outstanding community and would like to invite everyone to come and see the numbers they performed on the tour," Baker said.
