Erling R. Bolin

Erling R. Bolin, 78, of Warden, died on May 8, 2004 at the Samaritan Health Center in Moses Lake.

Erling was born on November 9, 1925 in Ellsworth, Wisc. to Jesse C and Carol Bartlett Bolin. As a young child he moved with his family to the Yakima Valley, settling in Ahtanum in 1928. School was to far a distance for Erling to continue past the eighth grade, so he left school and started working.

He met Luella Brooks in Yakima and they married on March 21, 1949. During that time Erling worked for Libby-McNeil. In 1972, he moved to Othello to work for Farwest Foods, then to Boardman, Ore. to work for U & I as a millwright. In 1983 he returned to Warden where he worked for Washington Potato, retiring from there in 1988.

Erling loved the outdoors, especially when he was camping. He was an avid and talented craftsman with metal or wood. If something needed to be fixed of fabricated he could do it.

He will be remembered as a God-fearing , loving family man. He attended a Pentecostal Church, then became a member of the Othello Church of the Nazarene.

Erling was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, four brothers and one granddaughter, Tammarra A. Pardee.

He is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Luella of the family home; a son, Bruce Bolin of Ritzville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Ted Pardee of Warden, Virginia and Emanuel Rome of Hermiston, Ore. and Candace and Robert Zerfass of Lincoln, Neb.; a brother, Donald and wife, Rita Bolin of Yakima; and 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

A time for final visitation will be held at the Stevens Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, May 11 beginning at 12 noon and continuing until 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Warden Cemetery on Wednesday, May 12 at 10 a.m.

Dad you were there when we needed you.

You seemed to know what was needed without a word said.

You showed us and taught us as we were growing up and you taught us well.

Your love was unchanged and true, you were one granddad. We love and miss you.
