The March 20 lake clean-up has been termed a success by all involved. Indeed, the 300 volunteers and organizers of the event deserve a another pat on the back for their efforts.

Around 30 tons of trash was removed from edge of the lake.

"We are planning to do it again next year," Regan Bonato, secretary of the Moses Lake Irrigation & Rehabilitation District said.

Volunteer Cliff Smith, in photo, used his truck to transport several tires on clean-up day.

An annual clean-up day would be a grand effort and with the first one under our belts, the amount of man-deposited litter collected should diminish. And if you are tempted to litter, don't.
