Arthur Walter Kulm

Arthur Walter Kulm, age 79, passed away at his home on May 1, 2004 after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Art was born to John and Elizabeth Kulm on November 2, 1924 at the family farm near Schrag, Wash. He attended the Schrag country school and graduated from Lind High School in 1943.

Art was a 50-year member of the local Lind Grange #1035, past member of the Washington Association of Wheat Growers, and the Lind Good Hope Lutheran Church. He was selected Conservation Farmer of the Year in 1988 and was recognized as a gold charter member of the Wheatland Communities' Fair.

Art was a lifelong farmer and rancher in the Schrag area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Wanetta of 50 years, an infant daughter, Patricia, sisters, Lydia and Mary, and brothers, Alfred, Emil, John, Albert, Fred and Edward.

Art is survived by: a son, Darrel and wife, Beverly Kulm of Lind; daughter, Sandra and husband, Scott Robertson of Beaverton, Ore.; daughter, Wanda and husband, Doug Rehn of Lind; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004 at the Lind Cemetery, with Pastor Mary Daniels officiating.

Mr. Kulm will lie in state at Kayser's Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 8-11 a.m. on Thursday.
