CBAA's final show of the season, The Truth About Daughters, plays tomorrow evening

"We're so lucky to be getting The Truth About Daughters so close to Mother's Day," says Columbia Basin Allied Arts' Director, LeAnn Pauley. "Nils Ling is Canada's Garrison Keiller and his take on parenting is bound to make anyone who's had children, laugh and cry and think. I can't imagine anyone not scoring big points if they decided to take Mom to this early Mother's Day gift."

The Truth About Daughters plays at Wallenstien Theater on the Big Bend Community College Campus, tomorrow evening, May 4, with a 7:30 p.m. curtain. Pauley says it is one of the best one-man performances she has ever seen.

For more than a decade, CBC Radio and television audiences across Canada have laughed along with acclaimed humorist Nils Ling as he has met the daily challenges of helping to raise two daughters. Now those moments come to life onstage in an enchanting and whimsical one-man show: The Truth About Daughters.

Touching, powerful, and , hilariously honest, The Truth About Daughters is one man's attempt to make sense out of those strange and magical creatures who turn his world upside-down and his heart inside-out. From infants with poopy diapers to teenagers with poopy attitudes, Ling's observations about life with his kids have been a hit with audiences from coast to coast. Now, in a World Premiere touring presentation, The Truth About Daughters will demonstrate that while father may not know best … he always has the last word!

Nils Ling has built a reputation for his gentle good humour and pointed observations on the age-old differences between men and women. CBC Radio has already broadcast excerpted scenes from the show, and BBC Radio also broadcast the play in its entirety. The Truth About Daughters has been called "a perfect 'Dad' date" with enormous appeal to women who have raised or who are raising a family.

Tickets available at CBAA, BBCC Bookstore, Andrews Hallmark, the Home Stretch, the Bookery and at the door. This presentation made possible by funding from BBCC, WSAC, the NEA, Shilo Inn, Discovery Ford, and Moses Lake & Grant County Tourism Commissions.
