Levy is an insult to district taxpayers

FACTS PT: II: Other Facts — the sequel:

FACT: The "levy committee" disregarded financial information before them as they focused on how to justify a pre-determined increase of the levy amount with absolutely no rationalization of district spending.

FACT: You can't achieve your strategic goals when you exert no control over spending priorities.

FACT: This levy buys favor with the staff while taking advantage of the public, resulting in is a loss of respect and trust in the ongoing administrative changes.

FACT: At the recent board meeting, Berryhill still refuses to cut excessive spending, keeping overlapping and oddball administrative positions.

FACT: Linda Muscopf's board sanctioned committee, showed that similar districts spent $5 million less per year.

FACT: Said districts achieved higher academic achievement levels and lower drop out rates.

FACT: LPOSD had the highest cost per student, highest administration costs, highest food service costs, highest transportation costs and the highest maintenance costs of any district its size in the state while keeping nothing in reserve.

FACT: Jeff Rand's new catch phrase: "belly up" (with more money), in order to keep good education. Just what more of us will be doing, going belly up if this new insult to the property owning and renting taxpayers passes on March 23.
