Painting done as part of national Community Service Day

Windermere's Moses Lake office was closed on account of wet paint Friday.

But in an interesting twist, the real estate agents themselves were the ones doing the painting, in a different location.

The office painted the Moses Lake Community Library meeting room and stairwell as part the real estate agency's national Community Service Day, in which more than 2000 Windermere offices across the country close all day and make improvements in their local communities each year.

From Windermere's Moses Lake office, over 12 people participated in the renovation.

"We talked with the city, and it was a need that the city of Moses Lake had at the library," Windermere owner-broker Lois Kincaid said. "They identified several projects, and this was the one that was selected by Windermere… I was surprised that it went so well. One of the reasons that it went so well (was) our new agent, Frank Miranda, was a painter for 33 years, so gosh, we had all of his expertise. He was kind of our captain."

Kincaid said the Windermere team also called in local painter Bobby Jacobsen for additional help and additional equipment "to reach those high spots."
