Donald Dale Pepin
Donald Dale "Donnie" Pepin, Jr., 44, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 14, 2004 in a single car accident.
He was born August 18, 1959 to Don and Ruth Pepin in Olympia, Wash. He grew up in Wenatchee and graduated from Wenatchee High School. He schooled in California and received his optician's license from the State of Washington.
Donnie returned to Wenatchee in 1981 and started Vision Menagerie, located in the Wenatchee Valley Mall. He later moved to Yakima and opened another store, 20/20 optical in the Yakima Mall. Of course, this was not enough for Donnie; he had bigger and better ideas.
With the help of his father, he opened Risky Business, a beach and skateboard store. In 1990, Donnie moved to Chelan and with the help of his sister, mom and dad, he successfully managed a two-part store, Eyecare Lake Chelan and Beach Bums. He fulfilled his dream of incorporating both optical, sunglasses and clothing.
In 1995, he came back to Wenatchee to manage Vision Menagerie.
Donnie loved to travel and went to many trade shows in California and Las Vegas for buying trips. He traveled to Hong Kong and New York with his father for optical business. He was a member of the Opticians' Association of Washington.
For the last two years, he resided on his houseboat at Twin Rivers Marina on Lake Roosevelt. He enjoyed fishing, boating and just being around friends and family, but his three children were his greatest love.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor and generous heart and a compassion for people and a love of animals. He was a friend to all.
Survivors include: his son, Donald Dale Pepin, III and twin daughters, Victoria Lynn and Madeline Ruth Pepin, all of Chelan; his mother, Ruth Pepin of Wenatchee; his father, Dr. Donald Dale Pepin, Sr. of Moses Lake; his sister, Lynda and her husband John Cavallini, Jr. of East Wenatchee; two brothers and their wives, Rick and Jane Pepin and their daughters, Rachel and Mykala of Wenatchee and Steve and Lisa Pepin and their sons, Skyler and Parker of Shoreline; loving aunts, Helen "Do We" Kern, sister of Donald, Sr. and Mildred "Millie" Lumberg, sister of Ruth in Wenatchee.
