Gregorio L. Duran, Sr.

| June 16, 2004 9:00 PM

Our dear father Gregorio L. Duran, Sr. was called home on June 14, 2004 at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, Wash.

Gregorio was born June 25, 1937 to Juan Pablo and Antonia Duran in Alamo, Texas. He brought his family from Texas in 1963 to Oregon. He was a farm laborer for John Haas Corp in Independence, Ore. He retired in the late 1980s due to health reasons.

In 1995, he moved to Sunnyside, Wash. with daughter Lucy and family. In 2002, due to health reasons, he moved to Moses Lake with his son Juan and family.

He was a kind, friendly, loving and talkative man. He always made a friend. Gregorio would give his last dollar to help anyone. Family was most important to him, most of all his grandchildren. He'd say to his kids "acuerdense ahora tienen sus higos" (remember now you have your kids). He enjoyed gardening and planting his beautiful sunflowers and vegetables.

He is survived by: his sons and daughters, Juan Duran and wife, Suzi of Moses Lake, Lucy Guerra and husband, Jose of Sunnyside, Gregorio Duran, Jr. of Sunnyside, Gracie Ayon and husband, Modesto, Elizabeth Duran and Sean McTeague of Salem, Delia Duran, all of Salem, Ore., Daniel Duran and wife, Erica of Keizer, and Maria Rodriguez and husband, Cesar of San Benito, Texas; brothers, Guiellermo of Sweet Home, Gabriel of Texas, Theodoro of Salem, Candido of Scio, Anastacio of Independence and Francisco of Aloha.; sisters, Margarita, Belem, Eduarda and Lupe, all of Albany; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gregorio was preceded in death by brother, Antonio Duran, sisters, Candelaria Carbajal and Maria Solis, parents, Juan Pablo and Antonia L. Duran and infant daughter, Judy Mary Duran.

Many special thanks to Suzi Duran, daughter-in-law and sister-in-law, who provided special care, love, patience and understanding. Also thanks to Anita Garcia, for her care, support and understanding. Many thanks to the Moses Lake Dialysis Center.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 16 from 4-7 p.m. and Thursday, June 17 from 1-7 p.m. Rosary will be prayed on Thursday at 7 p.m. at City View Funeral Home.

Dad:

Delightful and loving, loved and admired. Dad, you're my hero, my life you've inspired.

And when all my blessings are counted each day, I thank God in heaven for Dad when I pray.

Dad, thanks for your presence throughout thick and thin; you are more than a parent, you're my wonderful friend.
