Misty Castro was born on February 29, 1972. She passed away during her 32nd year of life on July 19, 2004. She was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter and sister.

Misty grew up in Chimacum and moved to Yakima in 1988. She graduated from Davis High School in Yakima in 1991. She then attended Yakima Community College and worked as a receptionist.

For the next eight years, Misty became a mother to four children, Joseph, 12, Marisa, nine, Nicholas, six and Abriella, 11 months. She moved to Moses Lake in 2001.

Misty enjoyed cooking, swimming, hiking and spending quality time with her children.

She is survived by: her children; her mother, Judy Roy of Port Ludlow; sisters, Shawna Smith of California and Natisha Abbott of Chimacum; and brother, Chey Salazar of Chimacum.

Her grandmother, Sarah Findley, whom she loved dearly, preceded in death.

The family would like to thank all of Misty's friends and the staff at Samaritan Hospital, Moses Lake, for their support during this very difficult time.

The family will hold a private service in Oklahoma at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations, whatever size, to the Castro Children Donation Account located at any US Bank office, or to the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence at 1402 Third Ave., Suite 406, Seattle, WA 98101.

Misty, we love you very much and are going to miss you immensely. We pray that justice will be served.
