Jay Elias Bowen

Jay Elias Bowen, 89, died of natural causes at home in Wasilla, Alaska on July 26, 2004. He was born June 29, 1915 in Poplar, Idaho.

Memorial services will be held at 12 noon Friday, July 30, 2004 at the Warden LDS Church.

Jay pioneered farming in Warden and worked with his brother, Russell Bowen, leveling farmland with a Cat and Carryall. He loved horses and gardening.

Survivors include: a daughter, Bonna Nelson of Mountain, Idaho; sons, Casey Bowen of Wasilla and Doyle Bowen of Richland, Wash.; brothers, Paul Bowen of Moses Lake, Wash., Gerwin Bowen of Rexburg, Idaho and Grant Bowen of LaVerkin, Utah; grandchildren, Tammy, Evie, Jonathan, Gina, Debra, Melinda, Donovan, Cameron, Allen, Seth, Brandt, Douglas, Tyson, CJ, Janelle, Keely and Kiel; 12 great-grandchildren; and nephews, Bruce, Dwight and Kevan Bowen of Moses Lake and Ritzville, Wash.
