Donald Richard Hazzard

Donald Richard Hazzard was born September 6, 1937 in Yakima, Wash. He went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2004 due to an extended illness. He was 66 years old.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Helen Hazzard of Ephrata, Wash.

He is survived by: his wife, Christa of Othello, Wash.; three sons and one daughter, Don Hazzard, Jr. and wife DeDe of Ephrata, Jorena Hazzard-Danielson of Republic, Wash., Sean Bates and wife, Yoshie and Jim Bates and wife, Jennifer, all of Othello; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Duane Wren of Quincy, Wash.; one nephew; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Don attended school in Ephrata and upon graduation, in 1956, joined the National Guard. During this time, he also worked on a survey crew for the state highway department. Later, Don went to work alongside his father, Lyle Hazzard, as owner/manager of Enterprise Oxygen Co., now known as NORCO.

Don worked for 34 years managing and selling welding supplies and industrial gases. Another of Donald's accomplishments was obtaining his real estate license, where he assisted many in purchasing their first home.

Don enjoyed a number of pastimes and hobbies, including fellowship at the Four Square Church, watching football and shooting pool with friends. Donald was an avid animal lover and great outdoorsman. He participated in hunting, fishing and prospecting, always looking for the "mother lode."

Don was a man of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. His family and friends could always count on him for a good story and a laugh. Don's positive and outgoing personality will be deeply missed.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at the Four Square Church in Othello.
