Cub Scouts enjoy day camp
The camp took place in June at Moses Lake High School, with 140 boys attending.
Cub Scout Day Camp 2004 was an eventful two days for 140 boys from Lind, Royal City, Quincy, Ephrata and Moses Lake.
The camp took place on June 16 and 17, at Moses Lake High School's track.
The days were filled with all sorts of activities. Some of the favorites were BB guns, archery, marshmallow launchers, birdhouses, and book boxes. The birdhouses were made by the Webelos and are going to be donated to the Central Basin Audubon Society. Other favorites included lunchtime activities, which were the PUD demonstration, and the Fire Fighters who helped us cool the boys off by dousing them with water. The boys were really glad to get cooled off.
Camp Nurse Shauna Reeder a wonderful addition to campers, who were excited to hear the day before camp that Shauna's husband Robert Reeder was back in the states after serving 18 month in Iraq on the front lines. He waited for her to help us at camp before returning home from Fort Lewis for a visit.
We as directors could not have made this camp possible without the help and support from all of the den leaders and staff and parents. We are very grateful that most of our staff and den guides came to training before camp to know what was expected of each person and pack. With all the support of all of them we were able to receive National Accreditation. This made us feel like all of our hard worked paid off. So thanks again to all of those that attended and made these two days the best ever.
