Claudine Ann Storwick
Claudine Ann Storwick, devoted wife and mother, entered into the arms of our Lord on July 3, 2004.
Claudine was born on October 24, 1930 to Josephine and Claude McDonald in west Seattle. As a child, she had a great love of music and dance, learning to play the accordion at a very young age and was a member of a Czechoslovakian dance group. One of the memories Claudine shared was as a young girl, she danced at Victory Square in Seattle, aiding in raising money for war bonds and meeting the soldiers.
Later in life, she was introduced to Arthur Wayne Storwick, who also had a love for music and dance. It was an instant attraction. They were united in holy matrimony in the Lutheran Church on September 29, 1956. Their love surpassed death when Wayne passed away in 1998.
Claudine and Wayne created a home in Snohomish, Wash. They had two children, Karen Jo and Kenneth Wayne. Claudine worked a variety of jobs during those years. She worked in medical records for Everett General Hospital, then as a stay-at-home mom while doing Three Lakes Water bookkeeping. As the kids got older, she opened a clothing store in Snohomish (Claudine's Apparel), and before retirement, worked in the billing department at GTE.
Claudine and her family loved to spend time on the water, fishing or just for a fun boat ride. Many summers were spent camping with the family and traveling. She loved to play cards, go to dances, and until she passed away, playing the accordion for family and friends. We all loved to listen to her music.
After retirement, Claudine and Wayne became snowbirds, spending half of the year in Arizona. This time meant so much to them, as Claudine started a polka band named the Cancelled Czechs. They made some great friendships and memories for the few years they were able to go to Arizona. After Wayne's death, her children moved to Moses Lake, and she came along also to be close to her family.
Claudine was part of a very loving and special family. She and her husband shared a unique marriage, one of which to be envious. Their children have families of their own. Karen and her husband, Jim reside in Moses Lake, Wash. with their three children, Tracy, Jessica and Samantha. Kenneth and his wife, Karla also live in Moses Lake with their four children, A.C., Joey, Axel and Abbigayle.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Claudine will always live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A memorial in honor of her life will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on July 24 at 1 p.m. The public is invited to attend and share memories of Claudine.
Holy Cross Lutheran Church is located at 9613 20th St. SE in Everett, Wash. (intersection on Highway 9 and Hewitt)
