MOSES LAKE — The difference between Entiat and Moses Lake Christian Academy was quite clear — experience.

Monday night at the Moses Lake Christian Academy Christmas Tournament, the Lady Tigers handed the Lady Lions a 47-12 blowout for each team's tournament opener. Which seems to be the case for Moses Lake and its team that seats five freshmen on a 11-girl roster.

"We don't have the confidence yet in our offense and we don't have anyone at guard who wants the ball and believes they are going to make it happen," Moses Lake head coach Scott Dietzen said following the loss.

The Lady Lions committed 33 turnovers in the game and came away with three scorers total for the game. All of which, Dietzen believes, is rooted in inexperience on the court.

He added that with a belief in the offense, the change in offensive production will follow.

"We have to believe we can attack and when we do that the shots will start coming," Dietzen said.

Entiat opened the game with 13 straight points before Moses Lake found itself on the board with 2:05 left in the first quarter. Lacey Barnes scored five of her game-high 10 points in the opening quarter run, which included a 3-pointer from the corner to give the Lady Tigers a 13-0 lead.

Barnes started the second quarter Entiat run with a drive down the right side of the key, sparking a 7-0 run over the next 3:37. Lindsay Dietzen hit a 3-pointer halfway through the quarter and went 2-for-2 from the free-throw line for all of the Lady Lions' second quarter point production.

Dietzen finished with a team high seven points in the game.

Entiat opened up a 31-point lead in the third quarter before bringing in the bench to finish out the game. Bethany Verhage scored two of her three points in the final quarter for the final Moses Lake points in the game. Verhage also came up with four steals in the 47-12 loss.

"We spent a lot of time at the beginning of the season working on defense because we are young," Dietzen said. We have started working on a lot of shooting during the Christmas break and we are still not there."
