MOSES LAKE — Someone other than Berlyn Davis made Moses Lake look dominant at bowling.

Danielle Hofstetter, who Moses Lake head coach Billy Brice called a sleeper, led the Chiefs with a 214 in the first game and combined 392 as Moses Lake defeated Eisenhower 3-1.

"She feels pretty good," Brice said, then added, "everybody bowled good."

Davis carried the load all season for Moses Lake, helping the Chiefs maintain third, just behind Kennewick and Wenatchee in the Central Washington High School girls bowling standings. Thursday, she played the supportive role with two games of 171 and 192.

Hofstetter rolled through the first game, bowling four straight strikes before getting a spare in the seventh frame. Dawne Drummonds also rolled two straight strikes toward the end of the first game to pick up a 164 for the team. Melissa Threadgill bowled a 172 and Emily Ozolins finished with a 175.

Game two went south for Moses Lake and relied on Eisenhower to follow pace to pick up the second game.

Davis set the game high with 192 and Drummonds followed closely behind with 191, while Eisenhower's Keisha Walsh set the team high for the Cadets.

Eisenhower pulled off a win in the first Baker game saving six spares, including a spare following a strike in the 10th frame by Heather Graham to pick up the 161-158 win.

"If we don't start early and quick, we have a pretty slow Baker game," Brice added about the turnaround after two lopsided wins.

Moses Lake turned their chances around with Hofstetter and Threadgill starting the second two frames off with strikes, Ozolins saved spare and later bowled a strike in the eighth frame as the Chiefs won 164-127.

"They got a float going on here and too bad we have a break coming," Brice said about the Christmas break.
