Lewis G. Gallaway

Lewis G. Gallaway, 85, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2004 in Moses Lake, Wash. after a sudden heart attack.

He was born in Wenatchee, Wash. to Bud and LoVisa Gallaway on January 7, 1919. His family moved to Moses Lake in 1935 and in 1936, he graduated from Neppel High School. He worked his parents' farm in Moses Lake until 1942, and then served in World War II.

Lewis married Dorthy in 1949 and they played professional music together until last year, which was always a great joy to them and everyone who attended.

Lewis worked at the Moses Lake Liquor Store from 1959 until 1979, when he retired. Lewis and Dorthy built their own home on Westshore Drive in 1949, where they have resided for 55 years and there they raised their family.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Don and Jim, baby sister, Evelyn and son, Bob.

He is survived by: his wife, Dorthy at the family residence; a brother, Newlan Gallaway of Grandview; a sister, June Whipple of Spanaway; many loving nephews and nieces; his children and their spouses (and former spouses), Jon and Rhonda Gallaway of Moses Lake, Bill and Tony Gallaway, Lynnda and Randy Staat, Steve Victor, and Cally Grieb, all of Spokane, Cheryl Bacon of Granite Falls and Donna Gallaway of Moses Lake; his grandchildren and their spouses, Rob and Tina Gallaway of Seattle, Aaron and Rosie Victor of Spokane, Jeremy and Holly (Johnson) Gallaway of Moses Lake, Sheena Gallaway-Biallas of Moses Lake, BriAnne (Pjosek) and Al Gallaway of Cheney, Melanie (Victor) and Jonathan Berquist of Spokane, Jonelle Gallaway of Moses Lake, Christopher Gallaway of Moses Lake, Billy Gallaway of Granite Falls, Nathan Beck of Spokane, Erin Kelly of Moses Lake, Ellese Sharp of Moses Lake, Candice and Nate Bohl of Idaho and Randy Staat, Jr. o f Spokane; and great-grandchildren, Aiden Pjosek of Moses Lake, Bailey Berquist, Aaron Victor, Jr., and Karmen and Jeff Beaty, all of Spokane, and Nate Bohl, Jr. of Idaho.

Papa was well-loved and appreciated by everyone's path he ever crossed. We will miss this wonderful man every day for the rest of our lives.

At Lewie's request, no services will be held.

Cremation arrangements are in care of Benson Family Funeral Services, Moses Lake.
