Celso C. Saenz

Celso C. Saenz, 94, longtime resident of the Columbia Basin area, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Samaritan Hospital.

Holy Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Felipe Pulido as celebrant. Interment will follow at Pioneer Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the Rosary and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Celso was born January 28, 1910 in Chapin, Texas to the late Celsco Cano and Natividad (Cantu) Saenz.

He married Rosa Montes on February 15, 1931 in Victoria, Texas. They have been married for 73 years.

Celso is survived by: his wife, Rosa of Moses Lake; his daughters, Santa (Lupe) Alvarado of Robstown, Texas, Delfina (Arnold) Cavazos, Josie (Frank) Guererro and Maria (Valentino) Saenz-Cantu, all of Moses Lake; sons, Celso Saenz, Jr. of Malott, Wash. and Robert Saenz of Grand Coulee, Wash.; 28 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 22 great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lupe Saenz, Sr. (wife of Mary A. Saenz).

At the time of his death, Celso was surrounded by his loving family and will be greatly missed by all who love him.
