Arthur P. Wilkins
Arthur P. Wilkins died on August 19, 2004 in Vancouver, Wash. He was 82 years old. He was born on November 29, 1921 in Ephrata, Wash. to Scott and Lillian Wilkins.
He worked as an administrator for Bonneville Power. He had lived in the Vancouver area since 1994.
Arthurs was preceded in death by his wife, Marie E. in 1994.
He is survived by: one daughter; Cynthia Taylor of Kennewick, Wash.; two sons, Curtis Wilkins of Vancouver, Wash. and Clair Wilkins of Whittier, Calif.; one brother, Scott B. Wilkins of Wenatchee, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.
Arthur served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945 and worked as a Chief Radio Technician. After his discharge he attended and graduated from Washington State University in 1949. After graduation he worked for the Bonneville Power Administration until his retirement in 1994.
While working for the BPA, Arthur lived in the Portland/Vancouver area from 1949-1955, then moved to Yakima in 1955 to 1967 and then in Walla Walla from 1967-1986, and finally moved to Moses Lake, Wash. in 1986. In 1994, when his wife of 50 years died and he retired from BPA, Arthur moved to Vancouver to be close to family and grandchildren.
There will be a viewing on Friday, August 27, 2004 at Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel in Vancouver, Wash. from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and a graveside service on Saturday, August 28 at 2 p.m. at Pioneer Memorial Gardens in Moses Lake.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Southwest. Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel is in charge of final arrangements.
