Mildred C. Simpson

Mildred C. Simpson, 82, Moses Lake resident, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2004 at Samaritan Hospital.

Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Mildred was born June 17, 1922 in Rapid City, Manitoba, Canada, daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Cottingham. At an early age, she moved with her family from Rapid City to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where she was raised.

She later met and was married to Harry Simpson in Vancouver on January 7, 1949. They continued to live in Vancouver where Mildred worked as a telephone operator. In 1963, they moved their family to Moses Lake, Wash. and had lived there since.

Mildred worked for many years as an operator for the Bell Telephone Company in Ephrata, Wash. and also as a matron for the Grant County Sheriff's office. She loved her family and especially enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandson.

She is survived by: three children, Harlean Conner and Larry Simpson, both of Surrey, B.C., Canada, and Keith Simpson of Moses Lake; two sisters, Irene Watson of Moses Lake and Helen Fowell of Surrey; two adopted sisters, Nell Fuller and Vivian Shrewsbury, both of Moses Lake; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Robert Simpson and one grandson, Russell Miller.

Mildred was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all. "Boots", "Buttons", and "Bows" send love to light your way.
