Betty Imbert

Betty Imbert, 82, longtime Warden resident and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, went ahead of us to her reward on Sunday, August 8, 2004 at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Moses Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at the Warden Community Church with Pastor Olaf Hoeckmann-Percival officiating. Interment will follow in Valley View Memorial Park in Soap Lake.

Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Viewing will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m.

Betty was born August 5, 1922 in Bellingham, Wash. to the late Jack and Pearl (Gennette) Coberly. She was raised and educated in Soap Lake and graduated from Ephrata High School in 1940. One of the highlights in her teenage years was being crowned Apple Blossom Princess.

She married Gordon Imbert on August 7, 1948 and they made their home in Warden where they have since resided on the pioneered family homestead. Betty worked at Myra's Dress Shop in Soap Lake. Because of her great talent, she made clothing fashion an intricate part of her life. She could tailor a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Betty enjoyed being around people. She was a great entertainer and loved beating people at cards. Most of all, she loved family, not only her immediate family, but those dozens of kids she raised during numerous summers at the ranch throughout her life.

Survivors include: her husband, Gordon Imbert of Warden; a daughter, Pamela Larsen and a son and daughter-in-law, Rob and MaryLynn Imbert, all of Warden; a niece and nephew, Cindy Gygax and CMR William Castle, USN Ret., and niece and nephew, Mike Peck and Ginger Peck-Jorgens; four grandchildren, Charlotte, Jim, Sarah and Adam; five great-grandchildren, Chance, Josh, Kim, Tristan and Andre; and one great-great-grandson, Justin.
