Bessie M. Preston

Bessie M. Preston was born in West Yaquina, Ore. on August 5, 1913 to John and Jessie Barlow.

She married Lyman E. Preston on March 17, 1935. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1974. Three brothers also preceded Bessie in death.

She worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant at Fairview Training Center for 15 years, from February 1963 to September 1978.

Bessie was a frequent visitor to Moses Lake for the past 23 years.

Survivors include: sons, David E. Preston of Lewis, Kan., Daniel R. Preston (Maryann) of Moses Lake, Wash., and Hugh E. Preston (Shirley) of Touchet, Wash.; foster daughter, Mary Kennison of Tacoma, Wash.; sisters, Edna Samuels of Renton, Wash. and Amy Madison of Molalla; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004 at Barrick Funeral Home. Private interment will be at Fern Ridge Pioneer Cemetery in Seal Rock, Ore.
