Virgil E. Roscoe

Virgil E. Roscoe was born March 9, 1923 in Clontarf, Minn. He died April 8, 2004 in Warden, Wash.

Virgil graduated high school on June 6, 1940 in Binford, ND. He attended agriculture school in Binford from 1940-41. He joined the Navy in November of 1942 and attended Naval Hospital Corp. School in 1943 and Naval Dental Tech School in 1944.

Virgil also attended Naval Instructor Training in 1951 and Naval Firefighting School in 1955. He trained in Naval Leadership in 1959 and attended Naval Field Medical School in 1960. He also served overseas. He retired from the Navy in February of 1963 after serving for 21 years.

Virgil moved to Alaska in 1963, living there until moving to Warden in 1984, where he resided until death.

He was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers.

He is survived by: his wife, Linda Roscoe of Warden; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Al Hansen of Shelton, Wash.; three children, Robert Roscoe of Anchorage, Alaska, Kelly Kogane of Anchorage, and Kathleen Zacharias of Weatherford, Okla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Virgil will be buried at Tahoma National Cemetery on April 23, 2004.

Virgil Roscoe was loved by many and will be missed by all.
