INVITATION FOR BIDS STANDPIPE #4 PROJECT- 2019 Othello, Washington Sealed bids will be received at the Othello City Hall, located at 500 East Main Street, Othello, Washington 99344 until September 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm, for the above-named improvement. Said bids will be opened and publicly read at the time. All bids shall be received before said opening time in sealed envelopes with STANDPIPE #4 PROJECT - 2019 marked plainly thereon. Plans and specifications may be obtained at no cost via electronic transmission from the City of Othello. Paper copies of the plans and specifications may also be obtained from the City at the above address for a non-refundable fee of $60.00 per set. Plans and specifications can be requested by responding to this email, or by calling the Contact person listed below during normal business hours. Copies of the plans and specifications are on file for review at various construction councils. All bids shall be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a postal money order, cashier's check, or bond in an amount equal to 5 percent of the maximum total amount of the bid. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract or furnish a satisfactory contract bond within the time stated in the specifications, the deposit shall be forfeited to the City. The City shall have the right to reject any or all bids that are deemed irregular per Section1-02.13 or are not accompanied by bid security. What are noxious weeds? State law RCW 17.10 defines a noxious weed as “a plant that when established is highly destructive, competitive or difficult to control by cultural or chemical practices.” Noxious weeds reduce crop yields, diminish land values, displace desirable native vegetation destroying habitat, choke waterways and interfere with recreational and sporting activities. Some are poisonous to livestock and humans.

Reclamation Announces Negotiations with the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District for Amendment of Renewal Master Water Service Contract The Bureau of Reclamation invites interested members of the public to observe a working session with the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District (District). The purpose of this session will be for Reclamation and the District to arrive at mutually agreeable terms and conditions for a proposed amendment to Renewal Master Water Service Contract No. 159E101882 that would, among other things, authorize the District to provide Columbia Basin Project irrigation water as groundwater replacement irrigation water service to additional irrigable lands located within the Odessa Subarea and within the service area of the District.
