EPHRATA — Thousands showed up in downtown Ephrata Tuesday to celebrate Halloween. Ghouls, superheroes, Power Rangers and more showed up in a display we’re sure would have made both Vincent Price and Stan Lee proud. The annual event was hosted by the Ephrata Chamber of Commerce and its member businesses. Tables were set up on First Avenue Southwest between the Chamber’s Basin Street Southwest office and City Hall for those businesses without a downtown storefront, while all along Basin Street, businesses had displays, candy and family-friendly activities for folks to enjoy. Area-serving agencies such as the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and New Hope/Kids’ Hope were on hand to participate in the festivities as well. In the end, the important thing was ensuring that everyone had their sweet teeth satisfied and the youngsters had fun. Editor’s Note: Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Columbia Basin Herald’s table at the event and visited with us. We appreciate your support as we work to ensure residents are informed and I personally appreciate the tolerance of my dad jokes.
