Lowell D. Hall was born July 31, 1935 in Wagner, South Dakota to Mae and Russell Hall. Lowell got his start working in the oil fields of Kansas at age 14. His work in the oil fields later took him across Wyoming. After settling in Riverton, Wyo. he married and started his family. He began his career as a milkman with Morning Star Dairy.

Kenneth Eugene Benoschek, age 69, a 20-year resident of Soap Lake, passed away at Sunbridge Care & Rehabilitation Center-Moses Lake, Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah Clione Macrae-Benoschek and Henry H. Benoschek, an infant brother, and brother, Ronald E. "Bud," a DF&W mechanic. He is survived by nephews and nieces. At the Thurston County Fairgrounds, a Benoschek Building is named after the family. The ancestral Benoscheks immigrated in 1870 from Czechoslovakia, and can be found in Tumwater, Medical Lake, Spokane, and Edwall cemeteries. Ken was bom in Olympia, Wash., Sept.13,1938, and he graduated University of Washington and served in the National Guard. He retired in 1989 as the Head Accountant with Lone Star Cement. There will be no funeral and memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Benson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Dale Warner Hulse
Dale Warner Hulse 60, passed away at home Sept. 16, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Dale was bom in Walla Walla on Dec. 1, 1946, to Roy and Laura Hulse. Dale graduated from WA-HI and later earned a degree in welding from Walla Walla Community College. Dale joined the Marine Corps in 1966 and served three years' active duty with one year fighting in Vietnam. Dale is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Laura Hulse, brother David, and half brother Ray Needhem, and his Aunt Wanna Posey. He is survived by his loving wife, Susie. He was a loving father to his two daughters Jeana and son-in-law Jason, daughter Jackie, and his son Cody Ross. Also survived by brother-in-law Tom Fisher and sister-in-law Linda Fisher. Also Wally and Vickie Hartwell and Bob Hartwell and a mother-in-law Barbara Hartwell, whom he always called Grandma and a special nephew Josh Fisher. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Dale was a loving and devoted grandfather to his two grandchildren Alyssa and Callie Warner. He also is survived by brother Ross Hulse and wife Kristine of California. During his younger days he enjoyed participating in rodeos riding bulls and broncs. Dale was an active member of the NRA and enjoyed spending his time with his family, hunting, fishing, and playing No Limit Texas Hold'em. Dale will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

MOSES LAKE - A vehicle carrying three teenagers crashed near Moses Lake leaving one dead Friday night.
Helen Shaw Lindberg
Helen Shaw Lindberg, a descendant of Mayflower pilgrims, was bom on July 27,1921, in Ottumwa, Iowa and died on Sept. 12, 2007, in Othello. On Aug. 14, 1942, she married the love of her life, Private Carl A. Lindberg. As a military spouse she moved 38 times, creating a warm, nuturing home wherever they went. She had a keen love of life; she liked to dance, sing her favorite hymns, play Shanghai on her computer, and, of course, spend as much time as possible with the family she loved unconditionally. She was preceeded in death by her devoted husband, Lt. Col. Carl Lindberg. She is survived by her children Carl Lindberg (Garrel), Kathleen Lindberg (David Skar), Susan Echternkamp (Warren), and Michael Lindberg; and her grandchildren Eric Lindberg (Guldal), Kris Lindberg, Aaron Echtenkemp (Lisa), and Anisa Mathson (Eric).

Rose Freestone died quietly at home in Moses Lake on Sept. 1, 2007, surrounded by loving family members. She was 84. Rose was born on Jan. 7, 1923, in Bedford, Ind., to Lewis and Irene Pryor. She spent most of her childhood in Indianapolis, Ind., and graduated from City Tech High School in the winter of 1940.
