Basin roundup: Central WA Select to hold tryouts for high school aged players

YAKIMA ­­— High school aged basketball players will have a chance to earn a spot on Central Washington Select this Sunday.

The AAU program is holding tryouts on March 3 from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Eisenhower High School.

The tryout fee is $10 and participants are required to bring a jersey and ball.

MLHS grad wins NCAA regional championship

KEARNEY, Neb. — Moses Lake High School graduate Chase Clasen won an NCAA Super Region 6 Championship for Division II Chadron State College.

Clasen went undefeated in the 149-pound bracket to earn a berth into the NCAA Championships in Cleveland.

Clasen is a No. 1 seed heading into the NCAA Championships at Ashland University on March 8-9.
