Firefighters and other emergency personnel responded to a wildfire near Beverly that was created by a tractor trailer that had gone off of SR 243. The vehicle caught fire and that fire spread to nearby sagebrush and grasses. With high winds in the area, the fire quickly spread to more than 20 acres.

Beverly wildfire prompts evac notice
BEVERLY – The Grant County Sheriff’s Office has reported a wildfire of more than 10 acres. An evacuation order has been issued in Beverly from A Street to Morrison Street to the Columbia River. Those not in the immediate evacuation zone but nearby in the town of Beverly should be ready to evacuate for their safety. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
