The state of Washington is home to several federally or state recognized tribal nations with two of the largest reservations being that of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation and the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation. Because of jurisdictional issues, some criminals have not been prosecuted for crimes committed on reservation lands. A bill currently being considered in Olympia would change that.

OLYMPIA- A new bill preventing individuals from escaping justice for crimes committed on tribal lands by fleeing into Washington state jurisdiction has passed the Senate with a vote of 45-4.
