On July 24, the Grand Coulee Vol Fire Department sent out crews to help with the Swawilla Fire which was located on the Colville Reservation. The crews assisted hand crews with back burns. The fire burned around 53,500 acres but is almost fully contained.

FIRE REPORT: Swawilla fire contained
MOSES LAKE – The Swawilla Fire, ignited by lightning at 11:30 p.m. on July 17, was Washington's largest active blaze, having consumed approximately 53,500 acres. The fire is now 98% contained, as of Thursday according to InciWeb.
