ELLENSBURG — If you are looking for a good spot to watch the Perseid Meteor Shower tonight, then a trip to the Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility and Renewable Energy Center may be a good idea.
The center, located at 25905 Vantage Highway, Ellensburg, will be open from 7 p.m. to midnight tonight for extra tours, snacks and activities for kids. People are encouraged to bring a chair and claim their spot on the east patio at the center.
“Due to a nearly full moon, meteor viewing conditions are not ideal, but we will stay open late anyway!” stated event organizers.
Kids activities will take place from 7:30-9:30 p.m., with the “Twilight Turbine Tour” scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and star gazing from 9:30 p.m. to midnight. Attendees are asked to not arrive any later than 9 p.m. at the center and to park with their headlights facing away from the building. For visitors who plan on staying past midnight it is recommended that they fill out an access permit by visiting www.pse.com/wildhorse.
RSVP is required and can be done by emailing email@example.com.
