Staples seeks school supply donations

MOSES LAKE — Employees at the Moses Lake Staples are soliciting donations of school supplies for local kids as part of the store’s first “Back to School Block Party” from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at their Moses Lake location, 815-B N. Stratford Road.

“This is our very first one. We don’t know what’s going to happen yet,” said Staples manager Brian Whaley. He’s trying to get a vehicle, Whaley said, that people would be encouraged to fill with school supplies.

The donation drive is ongoing; shoppers are being encouraged to donate $10, which is used to buy school supplies. What’s collected will be donated to local schools.

Along with the donation drive, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand with one of its K9 units, and food vendors have been invited, he said.
