GC Democrats to host candidate for state House

MOSES LAKE - The Grant County Democrats will host Steve Verhey, Democratic Candidate for state Representative, as the guest speaker for their monthly meeting and annual picnic July 16 at 6 p.m. at Blue Heron Park in Moses Lake.

Verhey is a public school teacher and the chair of Kittitas County Democrats. He is running for Legislative District 13 Representative against Republican Alex Ybarra, who was appointed to the position after the resignation of former Rep. Matt Manweller.

There will also be a straw vote on which of the 20 Democratic Party candidates running party candidate for President.

Participants are asked to bring an entree, salad or dessert.
