GOP Women meet Tuesday

MOSES LAKE — The May meeting of the Republican Women of Grant County will be held Tuesday. Sharon Hanek will be the keynote speaker.

In 2012, Hanek was the first candidate to win a statewide write-in campaign in her primary bid for the Office of State Treasurer. Although she did not win the general election, she went on to win her next race in 2015 for the position of Pierce County Charter Review Commission where she was elected chair. Hanek is also currently a member of the Pierce County Planning Commission which advises the County Council on land use issues.

Hanek has been an unofficial advisor to several grassroots groups which resulted in thousands of citizens rallying in Olympia against legislation they opposed, according to a press release. Hanek will share her story and discuss “the agenda,” and how it will affect voters and their pocketbooks, the press release stated.

The meeting will take place at Papa’s Sports Lounge and Casino at 6:00 pm. The public is welcome to attend.
