MOSES LAKE - Safe storage laws appears to have failed to deter at least one thief, as a large gun safe appearing to be pried open was found in the roadway on the 700 block of South Marigold Street Wednesday morning, according to police officials.

The safe was reported to police by a passerby around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. As of Thursday morning, no one had reported their gun safes had been stolen, according to Captain Dave Sands of the Moses Lake Police Department.

There are currently no suspects for the apparent theft. Those with information about the dumped property or who are missing a large gun safe are encouraged to contact the Moses Lake Police Department.
