Re-elect Terry Brewer

Print Article

To my friends in Grant County, I would like to offer my endorsement of Terry Brewer for reelection to the Board of Commissioners for Grant County PUD.

I have known and worked with Terry for 12 years, as we were both elected as PUD commissioners at the same time (I am a PUD Commissioner for Douglas County). During this time, I have seen Terry interact with PUD commissioners, state representatives and senators in Olympia, and congressmen in Washington, D.C. I have personally worked with Terry, and find him well-informed, articulate and respectful, even if you are in disagreement on a particular subject. Terry is always a gentleman.

Grant County PUD is doing well, and Terry Brewer has been a big part of their success and stability. Grant County PUD has strong and collaborative relationships with other PUDs in the region (including Douglas County) and in the state. Terry has also helped Grant PUD politically, both in the state of Washington, and in Washington, D.C.

Every PUD is different and has unique challenges and opportunities, including the “mid-C PUDs,” which are the Grant, Chelan, and Douglas county PUDs. It is not reasonable, in my opinion, to expect Douglas PUD to be like Grant or Chelan PUD, or Grant to be like Chelan or Douglas PUD, et cetera. It is reasonable to expect commissioners to be collaborative, prepared, informed, respectful, and to seek the best for their own respective PUD.

From my vantage, Terry has been good for Grant County PUD and our region. I encourage your supporting his reelection.
