MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake senior Dax Lindgren made his college commitment official on Wednesday afternoon, as he signed his letter of intent to play baseball at Gonzaga University next fall.

Lindgren is coming off a state championship run with the Chiefs last spring, the first title for Moses Lake since 1981. Lindgren announced his decision to play for the Bulldogs over the summer.

Lindgren said it was nice to make things official and move forward in his journey.

“It feels good to be done, already signed,” he said. “It just feels good.”

The Moses Lake senior said he’s been working every day as he prepares for the next step in his athletic career.

“I’ve been in the weight room every single day after school and I’ve been hitting a couple days a week after school and on the weekends,” Lindgren said. “I’ve been in contact with my coaches and they’ve been walking me through everything and telling me what I need to do.”

Lindgren said the staff at Gonzaga has just told him to keep up with his work in school, while continuing to work on his hitting and fielding as he prepares for his senior season in the spring.

With one year left with the Chiefs, Lindgren said he wants to help get the underclassmen ready to step up and prepare the program for another postseason run.

“Our main goal is to work our younger guys up and build up the program, keep building it up and get another state championship,” Lindgren said.
