Royal remained a fixture at the top of the Associated Press Washington High School Football Poll.

The Knights have been ranked first the entire season, so far, and garnered all 10 first-place votes this week. The Knights have been particularly impressive on defense, allowing only 23 points this season, which includes shutouts in six of their last seven games.

Royal’s latest game was a 67-0 trouncing of River View. The regular season ends Friday when College Place visits Royal.

The first change for local teams in the poll came in Class 1B. After spending weeks at No. 2, Almira/Coulee-Hartline slipped to third after a 92-6 loss to top-ranked Odessa. The Tigers seem to be poised for another 1B championship as they have outscored opponents 538-20 this season.

Naselle took ACH’s old spot in second.
