MOSES LAKE — The 15U Riverdogs Babe Ruth team kept tuned in this weekend with a series against select players from the 18U Riverdogs team on Friday and Saturday. In addition to helping the players and coaches get some last minute work in before the World Series beginning this week, the series helped to raise money for the team’s trip to Bismarck, North Dakota, for the tournament.

While the games were mainly to help the Riverdogs remain focus headed into the World Series, the 15U team did win two games against the 18U players at Larson Field over the weekend. The World Series-bound group took the opening game on Friday night, 6-5, before dropping the opening game of the double header on Saturday 14-4. The 15U team took the final matchup, calling the game after four innings, 10-5.

With money raised with the fundraising games, in addition to revenue from radio advertisements and other donations, Randy Boruff said the group has raised $6,000 towards the team’s journey.

The Riverdogs kick off their World Series tournament ride with an 8 p.m. game on Thursday against the host team out of Bismarck. The 13-15 Babe Ruth World Series kicks off on Wednesday, Aug. 7, going until Aug. 15.

Below is a list of the 15U Riverdogs pool play schedule to open the World Series.
