CHELAN — The wheels fell off for Warden in the sixth inning and the Cougars lost a non-league game against Chelan 13-7.
The Goats strung together 12 runs in the sixth inning to erase a 5-1 deficit.
Cade Christopherson hit a two-run home run to break a 5-5 tie. Cash Corrigan and Quinn Stamps followed with deep shots of their own; Stamps was a three-run blast to end the big inning.
Warden built a 5-0 lead behind RBI doubles from Ryan Arredondo and Julian Egia. Rodrigo Ozuna singled home Wade Visker in the first inning and Arredondo hit a two-run double in the third.
Arredondo struck out six batters in five innings pitched.
Moses Lake 3-12, West Valley 0-0
YAKIMA — Moses Lake improved to 7-1 in the Columbia Basin Big Nine with two shut outs against West Valley 3-0 and 12-0.
Evan McLean pitched a complete game, one-hitter in the opener.
McLean struck out four from the mound and added an RBI triple in the sixth inning. Gabe Passey added another insurance run in the sixth with an RBI double.
The Chiefs’ bats woke up in the night cap with an early 4-0 lead in the first inning. More, Moses Lake pulled away and shortened the game to six innings with six more runs in the sixth.
Dax Lindgren, Passey and Josh Williams drove in two runs each. Passey doubled twice, finishing 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Lindgren and Andrew Frey combined for the shut out. Lindgren scattered three hits in five innings, striking out five.
