MOSES LAKE — West Valley’s Logan Kinloch drained a go-ahead 3-pointer with 5.4 seconds left and the Rams outlasted the Chiefs on senior night 57-53.
It appeared as if Kinloch had stepped out of bounds when he received the inbounds pass, but nothing was called and he scored from the left wing to break a 52-52 tie.
Both teams struggled from the floor in the first half.
The Chiefs managed just 16 first-half points as the Rams led by as much as 11 before Logan Sperline made a corner 3-pointer to make the halftime score 24-16.
Moses Lake started the second half invigorated on offense.
A 10-0 run, capped by an Evan McLean traditional 3-point play, pulled Moses Lake ahead in the third quarter. Both teams traded baskets and the Chiefs led 34-33 at the end of three quarters.
Kyle Karstetter scored 10 point in the fourth quarter as both teams exchanged blows. McLean nailed a corner 3-pointer to tie the game with 40.7 seconds left before Kinloch’s dagger jumper.
